Why exfoliate?

Most of us understand the importance of cleansing, toning and moisturising. In fact, a lot of us do it religiously at least once a day.  How many of us ever think of exfoliation?

Why exfoliate?

For most people, exfoliation is an untapped and unknown entity. This underappreciated process has a lot of benefits for skin.

  1.     Improves skin radiance

Skin cells naturally exfoliate, meaning that as skin cells regenerate we shed them and produce new ones. However, as we get older this process slows down leading to more pigmentation, a dull skin complexion, excess oil production and clogged pores. Luckily, exfoliation can remedy these problems. Not only does it remove dead skins cells, it improves blood circulation on your face and gives you that healthy glow.

  1.     Reduces blemishes and acne

By removing dead cells on the skin’s surface and unclogging pores, exfoliation prevents the build-up of excess oil, which could lead to breakouts and blemishes.

  1.     Improves skin appearance and tone

Exfoliation removes the barrier created by dead skin cells allowing moisturisers to penetrate deeply into your skin, nourishing it and giving you a healthier skin tone.

  1.     Reduction in the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines

Improvement in skin moisturisation improves skin texture and elasticity, which in turn reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines.

With all these benefits, isn’t it time to exfoliate your way to healthy radiant skin?

There are lots of different exfoliating products on the market, some are for home use and some are for professional use.  For personal use at home we recommend using a mechanical exfoliator, that means one with bits in as opposed to a chemical one.  It is better to use a light one for your face more often than a heavy one once a month. If the exfoliator is too heavy then it is possible to damage the skin, obviously, this is something you want to avoid.

We do three different exfoliators.  The Revitalizing Exfoliator is a light facial moisturiser, the Brightening Exfoliator is an all over body exfoliator and our Indulgence Salt for Scrub is a professional exfoliator for the body that requires mixing with our Quenching Oil (this way the therapist can choose how much exfoliation the product will perform by altering the mixture to suit the client and the area being exfoliated).

We have two 200ml Revitalizing Exfoliators to give away with the offer code P44US8LH and two 300ml Brightening Exfoliators to give away with the offer code 7PPA5LJ3 (please remember to sign in or register first, one per person and this is limited to UK only).
